Hiding with Camouflage Technique

Hiding with Camouflage Jutsu

The Second Tsuchikage was known as the Non-Person for the stealth ninjutsu he invented to render him undetectable to almost all human senses.

It’s said that the cloth wrappings he always wore were used to cover the scars of a violent childhood which is what drove him to develop his Dustless Bewildering Cover and become truly invisible. Whatever the reason, that technique helped make him a legend that inspired the paranoid fear of his enemies.

Unfortunately the secrets of the ninjutsu were not something he shared with anyone and it was thus lost after his death. But that didn’t stop Iwagakure from trying to reinvent it for their own use. Years of work led to the creation of the Hiding with Camouflage Technique. Most stealth ninjutsu requires the caster to find the right terrain or create a substance to hide themselves in but this one is is suitable to use anywhere without preparation.

At its most basic, this ninjutsu controls how light is reflected around their body with chakra inflections so that they take on the appearance of the landscape around them, making them impossible to see with normal eyes. This makes it ideal for sneaking up on a target for the kill. But this is just the beginning as increased proficiency with the technique can make it even stealthier.

First they can learn to mask their scent to avoid leaving trails, muffle any of the noises they make so they cannot be heard, prevent their body heat from escaping and even suppress their chakra signature so that it cannot be sensed by others. Of course, the greater the level of stealth then the greater level of difficulty so not everyone is capable of disguising everything that could give them away.

Aside from that, there is no way to make them as intangible as they are invisible so they can still be detected through physical touch or even techniques that sense through physical contact. And eyes capable of perceiving chakra can see right through it unless the caster has mastered the ninjutsu to perfection.

Given its potential, Iwagakure has always been cautious in who learns it to avoid allowing any other hidden villages from stealing its secrets. Thus only jounin from Iwa know the technique and were able to use it to great effect during the Third Shinobi World War.
